Just an update.My co workers n I was wondering where to go for lunch?.So after doing some thinking I decided hey let's go to Sones!.It's been a while since I ate there!.So they agreed!..So of course I always ordered the deluxe box lunch.It never disappointed me.Until today!.I was enjoying my food saving the best for last.I bit into the fish tempura!.What the!?!.Off the bat it had a weird taste.I chewed it maybe twice then I knew it was spoiled!!!.It had an ammonia taste.I automatically spit it out n I smelled it n yes it was spoiled.I didn't call and complained.It's okay.From all the times I ate here it's the 1st time I got spoiled food..Although this happened.I'm still going to come here.There food is good n affordable.$12 for a deluxe box lunch!?!.Man!!It's a great deal!.So come n support Derrick n his friendly staff..

Old school okazuya style local delicacies at reasonable prices. Sometimes the fried chicken is a little tough, that's true. But when it's fresh, super ono. I love the boldness of their faith. Joshua 24:15. If you know, you know.

Great plate lunch! All fresh and flavorful. The teriyaki meatloaf and kabocha squash with pork were both amazing. Good mac salad.

Oriental Fish with Nishime, my favorite. Always nice staff and owners. Minutes to get lunch due to dishes being in a hot Entree line. Tip: Great spot for catering.

Love the decor and music which is full of faith and peace. It was so relaxing to dine in, enjoy light rock praise music and eat yummy local food! This is the chicken nishime over rice and the extra sweet sour spareribs that weren't enough for a a full serving. So naturally my tip was very generous;). See you on my next trip to Lihue for sure!!!

Almost a day full of errands, one last stop at Kukui Grove. Very limited choices of eateries, but one place I haven't been in years! Originally wanted a bento, but they ran out for the day. Luckily they got some delicious looking local grinds to choose from. So I chose fried chicken & hamburger steak, wow! The crispiness and flavor of the fried chicken almost brought me memories of Hanamaulu Cafe! The hamburger steak was really soft, little too much on the shoyu side, but still delicious. And there was a piece of shrimp something, I can't seem to remember the name of it, but it's a Japanese favorite and you'll most likely see it in a bento or okazuya. There were open tables inside, perfect for the passing showers outside. Really appreciate samples of the fish and how generous the guy was with portions!
